Spotlight: Lightly raced 5yo with just an AW maiden win but has been knocking on the door in valuable handicaps, notably Victoria Cup third of 17 at Ascot in May; just behind Apiarist in Buckingham Palace Stakes at same venue latest (first run for Amo Racing) so bit more needed on these terms.
Spotlight: Loves it here, winning this race two years ago and back at his best when winning Colm Quinn BMW Mile on Tuesday under well-judged front-running ride; went close to completing this notable double in 2023 so has to be respected although mandatory 7lb penalty makes this a lot tougher; good draw.
Spotlight: Three wins in Spain in 2023; yet to score for current yard but placed in four Listed races last year and probably a career-best here on Thursday when strong-finishing short-head second in fillies' Listed race over this trip, having been short of room early in straight; big player if over those exertions.
Spotlight: Dual winner plus was third in a Group 2 in France over 1m4f in 2023; beat Hurricane Ivor at Tipperary in April and conformed that form on latest when a clear second in Naas conditions event over today's trip; cheekpieces now tried on top-weight; draw not ideal.
Spotlight: Has reached another level this year, winning Irish Lincoln and close third in Doncaster equivalent in March and reappeared from a break with fine third to Dunum in Colm Quinn BMW Mile here on Tuesday under today's rider when handy throughout from a low draw; wide draw here over this shorter trip makes this tougher but definite player.
Spotlight: Holding his form well this season, winning over this trip at Cork and was finishing second for the third time when beaten 1/2l by Go Athletico in Scurry Handicap at the Curragh on latest; still-improving 5yo up to a career-high but one to consider from a good draw.
Spotlight: Balance of recent form has been over a mile but did win over this trip at Southwell last winter; returned from a break with creditable staying on eighth of 27 in Buckingham Palace Handicap at Ascot, after not clearest of runs; more needed.
Spotlight: Has won four times at 1m and gained first success at today's trip at Fairyhouse last month, off reduced mark; 7lb rise takes him back to near career-high so more needed; draw okay and stiff finish should suit.
Spotlight: Has done really well since joining current trainer this year, winning at Naas and Leopardstown (beating Fort Vega) and good second in Curragh premier handicap; fast ground may not have suited last time; cheekpieces now tried and rider's claim a positive.
Spotlight: Group 3 Curragh sprint winner a couple of years ago and was gaining first win since when landing valuable Scurry Handicap there last month off a much-reduced mark, coming from well off the pace to beat Fort Vega snugly; 8lb rise for that but still on an okay mark; first run at Galway and not sure this stiff 7f will suit.
Spotlight: Front-runner in good form on AW and he's continued the good work back on turf, winning at Pontefract and Epsom (Friday's Goodwood winner Rhoscolyn third, Persuasion fourth); no disgrace when second to an improver over 6f at former venue latest; will need to break well from this wide draw.
Spotlight: Off the mark over this trip at the Curragh in May, okay run since at Ascot, most recently last of three in Naas conditions event when having to force it; blinkers now replace cheekpieces; others preferred although rider's claim a positive.
Spotlight: Fine stalwart has won eight races up to this trip and is best with an ease in the ground; held by Bravais on Tipperary run in April and again latest in Naas conditions event although has a better draw than that rival here and rider's claim a positive.
Spotlight: Five-time winner at this trip including at Musselburgh in April; not at same level since though recent Epsom fourth a step in the right direction, despite not clear run; needs to find more.
Spotlight: First reserve; veteran's nine wins have all been over shorter, though has twice finished third in this race, including behind Dunum two years ago; Curragh win in March and Naas third (to Love Billy) shows he retains enthusiasm but this stiff 7f tends to stretch him.
Spotlight: Second reserve; lightly raced in recent years, running well on opening two runs this campaign at Curragh and Cork; not beat too far on AW latest; wants decent ground so could do with some drying.
Spotlight: Dual 2yo winner in Britain and some decent runs in defeat last year for Charles Hills; well held both starts this year for current yard, slow to break latest; visor now tried.
Spotlight: Third reserve; four wins on soft/heavy divided between the Curragh and Roscommon; looked held by the handicapper in the spring and back from a break; 2lb out of handicap and ideally wants it softer.

No better starting point than 2023 winner Dunum who attempts to follow up Tuesday's Colm Quinn BMW Mile win, trying to confirm that form with third-placed Orandi on 7lb worse terms. However, it could pay to follow other form from this week, namely that of PRINCESS CHILD, who finished like a train in a Listed fillies race on Thursday, having been denied a clear run, although the strong early pace could have flattered her. Scurry winner Go Athletico would be very interesting if seeing out this stiff 7, while Partisan Hero looks the best of the British challenge. [Alan Hewison] Show less
